Concierge Outer
Banks
Public Beach Access
What’s a public beach access?
Here on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina our islands are protected
by a string of sand dunes which line the high tide mark throughout the area.
These dunes are protected by local and state laws as well as pure love for the
Outer Banks. (Which makes walking on them not only illegal but down right rude!)
So how do you get to the beach? Each town has mapped out several designated
walkways over the dune to allow for public access to the beaches. These accesses
vary in style and amenities from a simple sandy path over the dune to a boarded
walkway with bathhouse and shower. Listed below are the designated accesses for
each town, as well as codes to depict the various offerings of each access.
Please note only the accesses listed with (LG) will have a lifeguard on duty.
