Safety Tips

Sun

Pets overheat much easier than humans do, and cannot easily tell us when they are getting too hot. Make frequent trips out of the sun and into the shade, keep fresh water available at all times, and watch out for those little feet they burn just like yours!

Salt Water

It can cause dehydration, vomiting and diarrhea and is just plain not good for your pups! They may drink it anyway though so again keep fresh water available and if they show signs of vomiting or diarrhea that last for more than a short time it may be time to seek medical attention.

Surf

Cresting waves pack quite a punch and can pose a danger to our beloved pets. Use common sense when allowing pets to swim in the ocean. Never throw anything into the ocean farther than you think your pet can swim, or into a rip current prone area. Also be sure to watch for signs of exhaustion; all that swimming is enough to wear them out even if they do have four legs!
